20th Anniversary of The Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers

The Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers opened in theaters this weekend 20 years ago. This pic is the wrap of motion capture production team (and the fish that Gollum smashes on the rocks and eats! Someday I'll speak about the significance of that fish, but another day!)

We knew we had created something special, but just how absolutely influential this team's involvement in the history of the transition of animation towards simulations of reality is still rippling.

While we were motion capturing Gollum I had a call from the film production unit to schedule a PR headshot and interview for press. I told the press team to send a photographer to the capture stage to get some behind the scenes shots and realized there was nothing scheduled to document the capture sessions. We were completely off the radar. So I took a bunch of pics on my camera and I think many of them ended up across the internet. I posted a few here. Enjoy the memories!
